Made by \"Hale\" out of East Arlington, Vermont, It is made of solid maple and has a traditional, Windsor-style design with a spindle backrest.The chair has a very unique build. It can be used as a traditional chair with armrests, or as a desk with a screwed-in attachment.The chair has 2 drawers; one under the seat and one below the desk (see 8th photo).The chair is in great structural condition, but does have small spots of worn finish, nicks, and light scratches--typical wear that you would expect to find on old, used chair. The only damage is in the last photo which shows a small break on the bottom of one of the legs, and a missing, decorative piece from the backrest. The missing piece doesn\'t affect the structural integrity of the backrest, and since it\'s only decorative, it makes no difference when you lean back. Aside from that, there are a few dowel-hole covers missing (see 2nd to last photo) However, there are no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot or warp. All of the joints where 2 separate parts connect are tight. There is no play, jiggle, or looseness at any joint.
