We’re proud to announce the limited re-release of our most requested colourway, Admiralty Grey, crafted by none other than Mike Steward, founder of Phoenix Straps and a master of his craft since 1978.

With Mike now officially retired, he has generously agreed to produce a small batch of straps exclusively for AKIO in his spare time. This is a rare opportunity, and we’re not sure how long it will continue. Once this run is gone, it may not return.

Each Artisan strap is handmade in the UK by Mike himself, using UK-woven military-grade nylon sourced from traditional textile mills. These are not mass-produced or outsourced: no shortcuts, no compromises. This is true British manufacturing at its best.

There were more than a few hurdles in keeping everything made in UK.

Our unique Nylon is produced in painstakingly old methods, these are not mass produced Polyester material which so many vendors now use but the results are worth it. If you\'ve worn a Phoenix before you\'ll know the superior quality in the material and the unique Grey is something that has not yet been imitated by others (although many have tried).

We wanted to keep everything period correct and the same as it\'s always been.

This project has taken a long time due to long lead times in UK manufacturing chains but the wait has been worth it as we are able to bring this modern classic back.
