HOT ! Antique Victorian Lava Cameo Collarette Necklace

An historically themed antique Victorian necklace of hand carved \'Lava\' Cameos, to silently message your appreciation of antiquities and European culture. As a celebration of gifted goddesses bringing grace and female power to this antique necklet, each individually sculpted to reflect their unique personalities. The material they are carved from is a local \'tuff\' which is a compacted volcanic ash, and such pieces were known as Lava stone but actually made of stone from the eastern side of Monte Sant’Angelo in Salerno province. 

These pieces were associated with the ancient 79AD eruption of Vesuvius and with famous excavations at Pompeii and Herculaneum; it would likely have been chosen whilst on a \'cultural\' trip there.

These carvings were produced in Rome where carving in local stones and shells has long been an artisanal occupation. The whole measures 19 inches but could potentially be shortened to suit.
