Both are 12K + 18K two-zone bundles on the 36k 5-zone condenser. The difference is line length:

• 05D07: both zones use 25 ft line sets

  05D08: 12K uses 25 ft, 18K uses 35 ft
  

 Use this bundle when your 18K zone is farther from the outdoor unit.

2. Is this still a true DIY system?

Yes. All MRCOOL DIY line sets (including DIY25-1438-O and DIY35-1412C-O) are factory pre-charged with R-454B and use Quick-Connect® fittings, so you don’t handle refrigerant when you follow MRCOOL’s DIY instructions.
