HOT ! Vintage 1950s Tulle-Embroidered Lace Gown with Floral Appliqué

This vintage 1950s embroidered lace gown is a true work of art— a custom couture dress made in the 1950s, modeled after the styles Christian Dior and Balenciaga were showing in Paris at this time. It was custom-made for a socialite of European nobility, who was prominent in both New York and European circles, and had a storied collection of fashion and jewelry; the dress is completely one-of-a-kind, and complete with many hand-finished details, like a true work of couture. The dress is constructed of pink silk, with an ivory lace overlay, which is then entirely embroidered with black tulle appliqué, tracing and defining the floral lace\'s shapes. These three distinct layers create rich depth, almost mimicking crocheted raffia. Adding to the floral theme are three-dimensional flower appliqué, rendered in organza with a lifelike appearance. The dress has a fitted bodice with a flattering bateau neckline, with a full skirt. The skirt has a shorter layer over a longer one, and is slightly longer in the back, which very much references Christian Dior designs from the 1950s. This dress is bra-friendly; it has \"bra-holder\" straps at the shoulder, which snap to hold a bra strap in place, so that it\'s not slipping out/becoming visible at the neckline. This is just one of many thoughtful construction elements that make this dress so luxurious and special— there are also protectors at the underarm\'s interior to prevent discoloration from perspiration. It closes with a zipper down the back.

Measurements: As-is, this will fit a size Small/Medium. It can be altered to your exact measurements, and there is excess fabric to let it out in places if certain measurements are too small. Please refer to below measurements to be sure.
