This traditional wooden box hails from Zhejiang province in southeast China. Crafted from beech wood with a top lid and one shallow drawer, its front face boasts a beautiful floral carving. Originally used by the middle-class women of Zhejiang for their make-up, it makes an excellent storage box today - perfect for safekeeping jewellery or smaller trinkets.
